NWH – Medical Training College
The NWH-MTC is also recognized and certified by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHEST). In December 2011, they celebrated yet another milestone when they got approval from the Nursing Council of Kenya to train Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN). The school of nursing has had two intakes in March and September 2012, and is expecting a 3rd intake in March 2013.
We are committed to producing graduates who are passionate about healthcare. Other courses offered includes; Diploma in Community health and HIV/Aids, Certificate in Community health assistant, Mortuary science and Theatre.
The Health care industry in Africa has immensely been handicapped by the shortage of skilled health care workers. Statistics have shown by 2016 there will be a shortage of over 500,000 workers in East Africa alone .In line with our Business Development and Expansion Strategy, and in an effort to bridge this gap, the Hospital, a key player in the health care Industry, established The Nairobi Womens Hospital Medical Training College (NWH-MTC) in June 2008. The vision of the college is “Transforming healthcare education in Africa” and to date over 300 students have been successfully trained and certified. About 35% of their alumni have been absorbed by different hospitals. The College is committed to delivering innovative, relevant and yet much needed healthcare education. We continue to build an exemplary institution that continues to produce skilled and professional graduates, with the aim of becoming a leading resource centre for healthcare workers in the region.The well been of our students is Paramount to the management, therefore they are provided with homely environment during their stay with us.

TOTO BABY CARE
What is Toto Baby Care-
TOTO is derived from the root Swahili word meaning ‘child’.
It is total commitment to a child’s health by reducing the morbidity (state of being diseased) and mortality (death) rates among infants and children. Some of the topics to be covered include Basic First Aid, infant/breast feeding, neo- natal bathing, cord cleaning, infection control and abnormal signs and symptoms.
How do we intend to achieve this-
By training baby care givers

The course is tailor made to fit each category of participants
The course is every 2nd Saturday of the month at Hurlingham and Ongata Rongai branches and every 3rd Saturday of the month at Adams Arcade from 9.00a.m – 5.00p.m
